Cross-stitching Beautiful Bees, Bugs and Butterflies

Available to pre-order now - release date February 9th 2027..

A cross-stitch book to inspire you to seek out the insect pollinators in your garden - identify and stitch them!

Full of easy to read charts and photographs to assist the novice cross-stitcher and also some charts for the experienced beginner.

Like many other creative projects that emerged around the world because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this book offered time to explore and create. The walks my partner, Paul, and I took were confined to a 3 mile (4.8km) distance from our Melbourne home. Thanks to his interest in landscape photography, we found tiny landscapes to capture on camera. Rather than standing on a mountaintop or windswept beach waiting for the right light, we were sitting in a garden or park waiting for a butterfly to land on a flower or a beetle to emerge from under a rock.

Beautifully charted, brilliantly beginner-friendly, and perfectly timed for cross stitch's love affair with all things nature. This book couldn't have landed at a better time for the cottagecore, nature-loving stitching crowd. A joy from cover to cover.

Time spent looking at nature is time well spent, and in this book Fiona gives you the perfect reason to reflect on the wonder of the insect world. Not only are the designs simple to stitch and contemporary in style, they are a fascinating insight into the hidden marvels that live among us. I've never really cared for flies, but I'm going to use this book as a reflective, creative opportunity to appreciate them from a new perspective.
